(to resound – sound forth)
RESONATE is the youth ministry of Oakbrook Bible Church.
We meet the 2nd & 4th Sunday of each month at 6:30 pm.
We our currently studying the book of Philippians.
Our name is our mission
– from I Thessalonians 1:8
“For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything.”
The Thessalonians lived out their faith in Christ in such a way that those in surrounding regions knew about God’s Word and God was glorified!
God’s Word RESONATES through visible faith, active love, and enduring hope.
Marks of Believers that RESONATE God’s Word
Visible Faith / Faith that works
(Faith that changes the way you live)
Active Love / Labor of love
(Love that is given away to others)
Enduring Hope / Streadfastness of Hope
(Hope that changes your attitude)
What is our purpose in RESONATING God’s Word – to glorify God!
Matthew 5:16 "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
1 Peter 2:12 “Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation."
RESONATE (Electronics). to reinforce oscillations because the natural frequency of the device is the same as the frequency of the source...
...In other words, when we are in sync with God – by being in His Word and prayer, we will RESONATE far better!!

RESONATE also gives out a two-week assignment to help the students who attend to better understand and know the text we study when we meet.
This week's lesson:
Read chapters 5 & 6 in "A Cross Centered Life" by C.J. Mahaney.
Be ready to discuss what you read at our next meeting on
SUNDAY,May 9th.
